The luxury chalet, the holiday home "Käth & Nanei," was built for generations: a farmhouse 2015 transformed into a luxury chalet in the Alps from in 1648. The rooms, with their layout unchanged from the construction plans from 400 years ago, remain original and authentic. Upstairs are the sleeping chambers, and instead of hay lofts, there are modern bathrooms nowadays. It is the perfect retreat for a chalet vacation. On the ground floor, there's the cozy parlor, the "Rauchkuchl" - now used for regional delicacies, the farmhouse kitchen, and the chicken and pig stalls have been transformed into guest toilets and sports storage after 400 years.
With Tom Lechner from LP Architecture, this house has been revived in its current form. He understood the message to preserve the old farmhouse in its original form and transform it into a chalet for contemporary living. The old walls are deliberately left open and preserved in the new holiday home. Everything new is subtly and skillfully integrated, unobtrusive yet visible. Natural light flows through the large panoramic windows on the ground floor and upper floor, filling the historic alpine chalet and drawing one to the window to linger and let the gaze wander into the landscape... a moment to pause.
"Today's living comfort within the walls of 1648 - a vacation experience of a truly special kind."

WARMTH AND COZYNESS
BY PRESERVING BEAUTIFUL THINGS THAT MAKE YOUR STAY IN THE CHALET KÄTH & NANEI SOMETHING EXCEPTIONAL
hallo!
In 1974, Maria and Felix Schmid "Gindlbauer" from Flachau purchased Großschlaggut. Martin Rieger, the previous owner of Großschlaggut, had no heirs and decided to move with his two unmarried sisters, Käth and Nanei, to the village of Lungötz, in the valley. He sold the property to the parents of the current owners. Theresia Harml, formerly Theresia Schmid, developed an interest in this property at the age of 14 and was delighted to have the opportunity to take over the farm with her family. Her parents had been renting out the house as a second residence for the past forty years. Although it lacked modern comforts, the spaciousness of the house was highly appreciated by urban dwellers, mostly from Munich. Therefore, it was only natural to continue offering the house to people who appreciate this special place. It is not intended for exclusive use by a single person throughout the year, but rather as a holiday home for a few days or weeks. It is a unique house for friends and companions, for extended families, for small corporate events, weddings, and milestone birthdays... a place to simply be...oneself.

THE RUCHKUCHL AS A STORAGE ROOM
THE FARMER CALLS HIS ROWBERRY SCHNAPPS, WHICH IS STORED IN THE RAUCHKUCHL, "LUXURIOUS PRODUCTS". HONEY FROM NEIGHBORING FRANZ, WINES FROM AUSTRIAN WINEMAKERS TO NATURAL COSMETICS FROM ANNABERG AND MORE.
The opportunities to rent an entire farmstead exclusively for oneself are scarce. Here at Großschlaggut, you can experience this exclusivity. And yet, there are people who are there to take care of you, should you have any questions. Hirscher Sepp, a neighbor at Großschlaggut, is one of these individuals. He looks after the residents of Käth & Nanei when his assistance is desired. He passes by on the lower path with his dog every day, and if you need him, you can simply wave or give him a call. Being a local from Annaberg, he knows the area well and is the right person for any technical assistance in the house. And Max is the perfect man for providing warm meals, whether it's home cooking or catering.
The team at www.flachau1.com takes care of all the written correspondence. Your inquiries, bookings, payments, and registrations are handled through email and completed in advance. Your days at Großschlaggut in the luxury chalet Käth & Nanei should be as carefree as possible - simply ...well taken care of.
